The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) connects UC students with volunteer opportunities and learning experiences in the community. A key to the success of the Center for Community Engagement is the ability to provide transportation for our student volunteers. The primary responsibility for this student worker position is to transport volunteer tutors in the Bearcat Buddies family of programs to and from the schools they serve, however, other needs may be met by this worker on an as-needed basis.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Drive a 15-passenger van from UC’s main campus to off-campus sites
  • Manage a system of pick-up and drop-off procedures for student volunteers, including taking attendance.
  • Follow predetermined routes to transport volunteers to service sites in the area and back to campus
  • Serve as a liaison between Bearcat Buddies family of programs and the programs’ stakeholders
  • Courteous and thoughtful interaction with student volunteers, community partners, and community members at large, is a must
  • Various tasks in the Center for Community Engagement office, on campus, and in the community as needed
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Punctual undergraduate or graduate student
  • Reliable individual who puts safety first
  • Licensed driver with a clean driving record
  • Experienced driving a large vehicle is ideal but not required
  • Available for shifts during primary transportation service hours (8:00am - 4:30pm, M-F)
 
Please Note: Employees with greater experience and/or availability during primary transportation service hours will be given precedence for choice of shifts.
